Nightmare on Craigpark Drive!
Halloween
I've always liked halloween.
When I was younger, it consisted of going round the village with some friends and trying to get as many sweets as possible. Thinking back, it was definitely one of my favourite days. The best part for me was each house trying to guess who was under the mask, but it wasn't until I left home that I realised this might not be a thing in larger communities, am I alone here?
Anyway, onto the video as I just found out the word count for each blog is to be under 330 words (lol).
Nightmare on Craigpark Drive (wooo spooky)
So halloween had arrived and I knew I wanted to make a film but what I planned to make and what transpired were two polar opposites. My initial aim was to create a behind the scenes style video of my flatmates and I getting ready since girlfriend Ellie (more info on the next post, foreshadowing no. 2) was over, and it would have been foolish not to take advantage of her unreal makeup and sfx skills.
Once I started editing though, I ended up making an intro that had more of an film trailer kind of feel. This sparked the idea of making a video in this style (and inspiring the hilarious title obviously). The editing process of this was much more fun and allowed me get more creative.
Little touches were added such as a tag for Ellie since she was the "star of the film" (her words not mine). Another thing was the use of different colour corrections to portray the different feel this video was going to have along with slasher style fonts in the intro.
Final thoughts: this short was a lot of fun to make and got me trying a different style.
I hope you enjoy!
